For the second consecutive year, in 2013 the Chicago Bulls found themselves facing almost an entire campaign without their franchise player, MVP Derrick Rose. D-Rose blew out his other knee in the season’s first month and management seemed content to wait until 2014; shutting down Rose, trading away Deng and ceding superiority to the Pacers and Heat.
Coach Thibs and his devoted players weren’t quite so ready to quit.
Withering defense, unrelenting fundamentals, masterful coaching and a whole lot of heart saw this never-say-die Bulls squad hang in all year long and not only secure a playoff spot, but contend for the #3 seed in the East.
How? We didn’t have Rose , but in Joakim Noah we had another player step-up and play MVP-caliber ball – lifting his team by always fighting, always showing heart, and always flashing his pistols, his smile and his tenacity. Voters may not name him the league’s Most Valuable Player, but no one can deny that this force of nature sports the MVB....Most Valuable Bun!
The only element more readily identifiable with Joakim than his effort is his hair – salute every aspect of his blue-collar brand of Bulls basketball with this fun new shirt that pays tribute to Noah’s signature look and team-carrying effort. MVB! MVB!
