|Founded in 1926, the Chicago Blackhawks are an Original Six NHL team with a rich history that included 65 years of playing in the classic, archaic venue of the Chicago Stadium. The Stadium was home to team sports, political conventions, prize fights, concerts and more from 1929 - 1994, and its loud gritty environs were inseparably identified with its primary tenant -- the Blackhawks. It was THE MADHOUSE ON MADISON!|
When the building finally shut down in 1990s (barely ahead of its impending collapse), the 'Hawks moved to a nearby sterile, corporate palace leading many to fear that the ambiance of the game would be changed forever. The lack of energy in the new building, combined with a slumping hockey franchise left many disillusioned and longing to "Remember The Roar" of the old Chicago Stadium.
In recent years, the team's fortunes have finally changed -- they are once again a premier club, the fans have made the UC echo with their excitement, and a new Stanley Cup banner has been lifted to the rafters. The ROAR is restored!
Show your connection to the past and present of the mighty Blackhawk organization with this tee shirt that features the old Stadium, the new Cup and the shared sentiment linking the two: ROAR:RESTORED!
