If Not Now When
The major league baseball season is a marathon followed by a sprint – after 6 months and 162 regular season games, a team’s postseason run can suddenly end in a single game or a short series.
Some accept this with fatalism, like Bobby Cox (whose Braves claimed 14 straight division titles but only 1 World Series championship) who labeled the playoffs a “crapshoot.” Others are invigorated by the challenge, like Chicago Cubs’ president Theo Epstein (who broke Boston’s curse and looks to do the same at Wrigley Field) whose stated philosophy is that, "every opportunity to win is sacred."
Theo’s focus is on championships, so he considers it an obligation to “go for it” whenever he has a capable team...as he does in the 2016 Chicago Cubs. Despite possessing the deepest roster and best record in baseball, Epstein strove to improve his squad at the trade deadline and paid dearly for temporary pieces in pursuit of this year’s title.
“If not now, when?” he asked.
“If not now, when?”
It’s an aggressive and optimistic approach for a fan base hoping for its first championship in 108 years...but just the attitude we need! No longer are we loveable losers – we’re World Series favorites: IF NOT NOW, WHEN?!
Like all National Fanthem designs, this is not an official product of any player, league, franchise, or front office guru -- it's just a fun piece of unique art from our imagination; drawn by hand and rendered digitally as a lossless high-resolution vector graphic for ideal printing.
