Virginia McCaskey shed the famous last name of her legendary father – Papa Bear George Halas, but she kept his looks, his pride and his passion for Chicago Bears football.
Halas founded the National Football League and formed its flagship franchise -- a team that remains his family’s business with Virginia at its head...but the organization has fallen on difficult, embarrassing times. In search of its 10th NFL title, da Bears turned to an untried leadership duo (Emery/Trestman) which took a 10-6 defensive-minded team and quickly turned it into a 5-11 laughing stock.
The 2014 season included astonishing blowouts in nationally-televised games, record-setting points allowed, bizarrely clueless coaching behavior, a slew of punch-lines, and a 5-game losing streak to end the horifying campaign. Fans were fed-up, players were dejected, the locker room was mayhem and the Halas/McCaskey family was forced to act.
The hapless GM/coaching tandem and staff were fired and in a rare moment of family candor, chairman George McCaskey divulged the matriarch’s position on the state of the team, “She’s pissed off.”
Bears fans found some solace in the fact that we were not alone in our frustrations and our demands for better performance. We echo the sentiments of the aging owner, and shame for the state of the once-proud Monsters of the Midway. We’re PISSED OFF!
Show your solidarity, your anger, and remind the team what’s expected of them with this artistic depiction of Virginia’s disappointment – a sweet old lady moved to hot-blooded emotion by the destruction of her father’s legacy and her city’s team.
Like all National Fanthem designs, this is not an official product of any player, league, franchise, or cantankerous nonagerian -- it's just a fun piece of unique art from our imagination; drawn by hand and rendered digitally as a lossless high-resolution vector graphic for ideal printing.
